Our Mission
The Keene Chamber Orchestra is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization strongly committed to music education via traditional and non-traditional paths. Our mission is to bring music to every corner of our community through instrumental instruction, music appreciation, scholarship, community development, outreach chamber music, and solo concerts.
Our Foundation
The Keene Chamber Orchestra, “one of New Hampshire’s cultural delights”, was founded by Eric Stumacher in 1990. Eric elevated KCO through his vision, leadership, and great love of music. Eric resigned as Music Director and Conductor early in 2022 and continues on his musical mission with his virtuosic solo piano playing and directing the Sonad Project.
Our Present
The Keene Chamber Orchestra is directed by Maestro Eric Thomas, who continues to advance the mission of KCO with meaningfully expressive rehearsals and performances. Eric leads the musicians with his love for music, craft, enthusiasm, constancy of commitment, and great effort.
We thrive on volunteers and community support; and we thank sponsors Oster and Wheeler and The Keene Senior Center!
